While meeting the financial needs of our members, we are committed to protect the privacy of our members. This notice will describe to you how we collect, use and safeguard your personal financial information.

Information We Collect From You

Our credit union will collect only the personal information that is necessary to conduct our business. That means just what is necessary to provide competitive financial products and services — no more.

We collect non-public, personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications and order forms
  • Information about your transactions with us or with others
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency
  • Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms.

Disclosure

Our credit union will only share information when absolutely necessary. We will only share information to administer the products and services we provide.

We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our members and former members to anyone, except as permitted by law.

My Community Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of our members. In general, you can visit us on the World Wide Web without disclosing to us who you are or revealing any information about yourself.

If you send an email, My Community Federal Credit Union collects and stores personally-identifying information in order to process your email. This information is not sold to any third parties. Due to the volume of email activity, these messages are deleted after they are answered or completed.

How We Protect Your Information

We restrict access to non-public, personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural regulations to guard your non-public, personal information. All of our employees are trained to protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of your information.

We only partner with businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. The use of the information we provide is limited and we never permit these companies to sell the member information we provide to anyone, including telemarketing firms.

What You Can Do To Protect Your Privacy

Our credit union is committed to protecting the privacy of its members, however, as a member, you have a responsibility to safeguard your financial information.

Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINs and passwords. Never keep your PIN number with your ATM/check card since it can provide unauthorized access to your accounts in the event of loss or theft.

Protect your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. Know with whom you are doing business. Use great caution when giving out non-public, personal information over the phone.

Keep your information with us current. It is important that we have information to reach you quickly if we detect fraud or unauthorized activity on your account.

Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. to other persons. If someone calls you claiming to be a credit union employee and asks for your account number, you should beware, because official credit union staff will have access to your information and will have no need to ask for it.

Keep all items with personal information in a safe place. Shred any items containing personal information before discarding.
